question for the housewifes?

My first husband was the same as your’s exactly! Back in the old days….(70’s)….my grandmother gave me a $50 note in case I decided to leave him and take the children…..which I did not long after….for more reasons than just the money.
My second husband started off similar…..but would waste a lot of money and we never had enough to pay the bills, let alone have any extra for treats or clothes etc.,…..so one day following an argument, he told me to handle the money from now on if I thought I could do better….so I have been….for 17 years now……and although we are by no means rich, the bills are paid, we rent a nice home, have 2 (2nd hand) cars, everything we need and good food to eat. He has a very small extra income which is his allowance….but the rest all goes towards the household and clothing, bills etc.,

Quite often he will bring me home a small gift or take me to the club for lunch,…and he has more respect for me and treats me well. We have a limited budget, but he no longer complains if I buy something for myself. Thinks have certainly changed for the better in that regard.

I suggest you have a good talk with your husband and tell him you refuse to be controlled like that.
